Open all year round, The Benson Hotel in historic Braintree in Essex is a Grade II listed building dating back to 1540 and combines modern comfort with traditional charm. The Benson Hotel double bedrooms have kingsize beds (unless otherwise stated), are centrally heated and have a hair dryer, television and private bathroom. Room service and ironing facilities are also available and you are welcome to relax in the adjoining licensed Benson Bar where you can choose from a variety of wines, beers and beverages. The Benson Hotel has an excellent restaurant and is open to both hotel and non-residents enabling you and your guests to enjoy a meal together. A wide range of meals are available plus an excellent bar menu and a selection of wines to compliment your meal. Private dining facilities are also available. Packed lunches are available on request. Breakfast is served from 7.30am until 9am (Sundays 8.30am until 9.30am) and evening meals are served in the bar area or dining room.

Car parking is available within our walled car park and we are only 10 minutes walk from the historic market town of Braintree where you can visit the Braintree Museum , and 5 minutes from the beautiful Braintree Park Gardens.

The Benson Hotel is well placed for Towerlands Equestrian Centre and Golf Course in Braintree , The Fennes wedding venue and fishery, Leez Priory wedding venue and Gosfield Hall - also a popular wedding venue, as is Hedingham Castle . The Benson Hotel is only 20 minutes from Stansted Airport and only a short drive from Colchester and Chelmsford and within easy reach of the popular local picturesque villages of Finchingfield, Castle Hedingham, Coggeshall and Suffolk’s Stour Areas as well as attractions including Spains Hall in Finchingfield, Earles Colne Golf Club, The Essex Golf and Country Club in Coggeshall, Braxted Hall and Downs Hall (near Stansted Airport). We are also opposite Braintree College so ideal for visiting educational professionals.
